Hi!
I'm Jennifer, and welcome to my first post!
I am a third grade teacher from sunny San Diego, California. I have been teaching for 15 years and I hope that I will be able to share a little bit of my teaching experience with you!
My district jumped into Common Core this year, so a lot of my posts will be about my experiences, good and bad, with the transition. I am so excited to be making the switch, but a little nervous because I pretty much have to make it up as I go along, since my district has told us that they have no money to purchase any new curriculum.
I am also working with a few other teachers to train my school in Lucy Calkin's Writer's Workshop. I was lucky enough to go to New York to train with the Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University for the last two summers. So, I guess I'm a bit of an expert, as far as my school goes.
